Marshall Crenshaw - "For Her Love"

I know that some readers of this blog are not particularly keen on the music of Marshall Crenshaw, but I'm in the mood for one of my favourite songwriters of the 80's (i.e., Marshall Crenshaw).

At the risk of displeasing a few people...

Sorry about that, non-Marshall fans. But when you're in the mood, you're in the mood.

"For Her Love" appeared on Marshall's second album, Field Day. Because the album's bombastic production (by Steve Lillywhite) was not universally loved, someone decided a remix of some of its songs was in order.

As a bonus (for people who like Mr. Crenshaw's music), here's the remix of "For Her Love" (not by Steve Lillywhite):

  1. Not for nothing, but anyone not keen on Marshall Crenshaw probably doesn't deserve to hear music anyway.

  3. Hey, Jon: I must admit that I'm completely un-bothered by people not liking – or even not knowing about – the music of Marshall Crenshaw. It's a big old world, with plenty of music in it. And people being people, they'll like what they like, regardless of my (or your) taste in music. C'est la vie. But I admire your passion for the music of the Marshall. Nowadays, when Marshall Crenshaw is mentioned I'd say the most frequent response from people would be "Who?".

Hey, Anonymous: It looks to me like Jon's statement appears to be more biased than anything else – i.e., written by someone who is a huge fan and can't understand why people wouldn't like anything by Señor Crenshaw.

At the risk of using too many French phrases: À chacun son goût.
